Nancy P. Alexander
Nancy P. Alexander is Director of Northwestern State University Child and Family Network in Shreveport, Louisiana. NSU Child and Family Network is a multifaceted program addressing all aspects of the early childhood field.
Nancy’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Centenary College and a master’s from Northwestern State University with additional graduate work from Northwestern, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana State University. She is a certified Playground Inspector from the National Program for Playground Safety.
Nancy has received several awards, including being selected as one of the One Hundred Women of the Century by the Women’s Business Council of the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the Trainer of the Year Award by the North Louisiana chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (now Association for Talent Development). She is also a past president of the chapter.
She is a past president of the Louisiana Early Childhood Association and past board member of the Southern Early Childhood Association where she received the Outstanding Member Award.
She is the author of numerous articles and three books: Early Childhood Workshops that Work: The Essential Guide to Successful Training and Workshops, Nailing Jelly to the Wall: Defining and Providing Technical Assistance in Early Childhood Education, and Twelve Essential Topics in Early Childhood: A Year of Professional Development for Staff Meetings.
