Heather Olsen, EdD is an educator and consultant who has worked at the local, state, and national levels. While her expertise has been on the health and safety of the outdoor environment, Dr. Olsen has worked with a number of youth agencies related to playground safety and outdoor curriculum. Dr. Olsen has lead a number of professional development workshops and trainings on the topic of outdoor play, playground injury prevention, and planning. Dr. Olsen has been a principal investigator on several federal projects, including curriculum development, educational outreach materials, and publications. Over the years, Dr. Olsen has collaborated and partnered on projects with the US Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Divisions, and actively participates with the development of playground safety standards.

Nicole Quint has been an occupational therapist for over 15 years, working in adult and pediatric rehabilitation and academia. She is currently Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department at Nova Southeastern University, teaching in both the Masters and Doctoral programs. She provides outpatient pediatric OT services at NSU and Social Mind Center, specializing in children and adolescents with Sensory Processing Disorder and concomitant disorders. She also provides consultation services for schools, professional development, and special education services. She provides continuing education on topics related to Sensory Processing Disorder, pediatric considerations on the occupation of sleep, occupational therapy and vision, reflective therapist, executive functions, leadership in occupational therapy and social emotional learning. She is currently working on a PhD in conflict analysis and resolution specific to systems and organizations, with an interest in disability and conflict.

Amanda Schwartz, Ph.D. is an educator and Federal contractor who has worked at national, regional, state, and local levels. While her expertise is focused on special education, health, early childhood education, and family engagement, Dr. Schwartz has worked on program management and emergency preparedness issues related to children and families. As a team member on several Federal projects, Dr. Schwartz worked in technical assistance, resource development, research, and monitoring. Throughout her career, Dr. Schwartz has developed professional development opportunities and publications to facilitate the use of research-based interventions and support data-driven decision-making by practitioners, technical assistance providers, and Federal staff in the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Charlotte Hendricks has promoted health education for young children, families, and teachers for over 30 years and pioneered curriculum development and evaluation for preschool health education. Nationally recognized as a leader in her field, her career has spanned public health, higher education, Head Start, and research. She often presents to early childhood programs and at state and national conferences, delivering high energy presentations to illustrate practical and cost-effective approaches to best practice, national standards, and issues facing today’s early childhood staff and families.
Charlotte served as Editor for Healthy CHILDCare magazine for 16 years and has published extensively, including HIP on Health®: Health Information for Caregivers and Families and Growing, Growing Strong: A Whole Health Curriculum for Young Children. Her latest book, Redleaf Quick Guide to Disaster Planning and Preparedness in Early Childhood and Schoolage Care Settings, exemplifies her ability to present essential information in an easy-to-follow format.

Sara Pullen
DPT, MPH
Dr. Pullen is an Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine, where she coordinates the service learning program and the pro bono physical therapy clinic. Dr. Pullen’s clinical practice and research focuses on the intersection of HIV, chronic pain and opioid use, especially in underserved areas. Dr. Pullen started the first physical therapy clinic within a freestanding, multi-service AIDS clinic in the southeastern U.S. where she holds weekly clinics and conducts clinical research. She has wide experience in the provision of health services to underserved communities both in the U.S. and internationally. She has published several peer-reviewed journals on the topic of HIV and physical therapy, and provided the HIV content of the two major study guides for the physical therapy national board licensure exam. In 2015, she received the IPT-HOPE Award from the World Congress of Physical Therapy for her work in the field of HIV and physiotherapy. In 2018, she received the Emory University School of Medicine’s prestigious Hidden Gem Award for her groundbreaking work with HIV and chronic pain in vulnerable communities.

Rebekah F. Cunningham, PhD is an adjunct associate professor at A.T. Still University (ATSU), teaching both online and on campus. She also currently works in private practice, evaluating children and administering auditory processing evaluations. She was previously the Pediatric Business Development Manager at Phonak, LLC, focusing on ensuring preschoolers experience Roger remote microphone technology. Prior to working with Phonak, Dr. Cunningham was the Director for the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program at the Indiana State Department of Health. Her passion has always been pediatric-focused, whether teaching/mentoring audiology students, providing services or overseeing programs responsible for ensuring timely and appropriate evaluations and follow-up. She has served for more than 20 years on committees and task forces for local and national audiology organizations. Dr. Cunningham has taught, presented, and published on the topics of assessment and management of children with hearing loss and/or auditory processing difficulties.
