company culture

Meet some of our culture award recipients!

At Continued, we have built a team of dedicated, passionate individuals who keep culture at the forefront of all we do.

In order to recognize team members who go above and beyond to exemplify our core values, we introduced a culture awards program to highlight these individuals who help us thrive as an organization.

Culture awards are given on a quarterly basis through a peer-nominated process.

Awards are based on exceptional demonstration of one or more of our core values:

  • Be Reliable & Excellent
  • Communicate Openly & Effectively
  • Collaborate & Support Always
  • Act Like An Owner

Additionally, culture award recipients are recognized based on project achievements, innovations, system improvements, morale-building, and other culture-based considerations.

Recipients are celebrated company-wide and receive a monetary award and custom memento.

“We make culture our primary objective, and we are excited to recognize these award recipients who have been nominated by their colleagues for their dedication to the values we all hold dear,” said HR Director Asher Primrose.

Continued culture award recipientMelissa Martinis leads Continued’s market development team, which executes external marketing and profession-specific programs to grow product and brand awareness.

She joined the company as a new mom 11 years ago, when fully remote work was not as common. She says this company has allowed for greater balance in her life and also a career she loves.

“It's been incredible to be a part of this growing organization over the last decade,” Martinis said. “While so many things have changed over the years, what has remained unchanged—and even strengthened—is our culture. A LinkedIn Learning challenge centered on gratitude during the busy holiday season was a recent highlight for me. Seeing Slack buzzing with lists of gratitude from team members across the country was truly special!”

“Melissa exemplifies our core values through her exceptional dedication and perseverance. Her patience and persistence combined with her warm demeanor have advanced our company invaluably.”

Culture award recipientKate McQueen joined the company two years ago as a product manager. She works with teams across the business to prioritize new features or functionality for Continued’s learning sites. She also leads a development team in the delivery of those features.

“In short, my job is to help improve our product for our customers,” McQueen said.

“I love the people I work with. Even though we're all across the country, I've gotten to know so many people that I now consider friends. It's such a caring community of people.”

“Kate embodies each of our core values every day. She's always willing to help others, even if it means adjusting her own plans, and she maintains a positive and can-do attitude throughout.”

Continued culture award recipientEmily Padgett has been with Continued’s sister company, Simucase, for nearly five years. As lead learning and simulation developer—PT, she is involved in the strategic development of Simucase’s library of simulations and videos, which are designed to train users on physical therapy and other healthcare knowledge.

Prior to joining Simucase, she worked as a  physical therapist in a variety of settings across multiple states.

“What I love most about my job is the ability to create innovative learning solutions for students,” said Padgett, PT, DPT, CHSE. “I also love collaborating alongside my team members, as the environment at the company is very supportive and inclusive.”

“Emily has a can-do attitude and is always willing to go the extra mile. Her efforts and perseverance are making a positive impact on the use of simulation as a teaching modality in the field of physical therapy. Recently awarded the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential, Emily is recognized as a leader in her field.”

Continued culture award recipientChelsea Richardson joined the continuing education administration (CE admin) team in 2019 and is responsible for ensuring that Continued has the appropriate approvals for social work courses offered. She also manages other website content and is extensively involved in conducting research and planning for the launch of new markets.

Prior to joining Continued, she worked as a social worker in a variety of settings.

“I love that I am able to stay up to date and relevant in my field of work,” Richardson said.

“Additionally, I find it very exciting to be a part of new markets and to ensure that approvals are processed without any issues. I am highly skilled at paying close attention to details, and I genuinely enjoy administrative work. I feel very proud to work for a company that promotes an amazing culture and offers support and growth opportunities to its employees based on their preferred learning styles.”

“Chelsea's dedication to our company's growth into new markets has been nothing short of exemplary. She provides valuable data and insight about our members' perspectives and about which approvals may be valuable to them. Her innovative approach extends to streamlining processes, and her time-saving practices have significantly boosted efficiencies.”

Culture award recipientOlga Yeromenko joined the company nearly five years ago. As senior software developer engineer in test, she performs manual and automation testing of Continued’s web applications.

“Olga's attention to detail, communication with developers, and talented test writing are frequently lauded inside and outside of her team. Over this past quarter, Olga has gone significantly above and beyond in exemplifying our company's core value of Be Reliable & Excellent. It is evident how much Olga cares for the success of the company, and she has proven herself as a linchpin.”
