Question

What is the fawn response?

Answer

The fawn response is a trauma response, in which someone might be described as being very compliant with whatever the situation or person may be calling them to do as a means of survival. So, instead of fighting or running away, the person will just simply doing what they are being told to do or doing what they feel that they need to do in order to survive. Feign is another layer of that or a reframing of that where a person might be seeming compliant or going along with what is being asked of them or demanded of them, but with some intention for trying to control the situation.
