Meet speech-language pathologist and Continued member Taylor Stewart

Our story is as much about our members as it is about us.

Taylor Stewart, MA, CCC-SLP, joins the Continued community from Norman, Oklahoma, where she serves as a speech-language pathologist for Norman Regional Health System. She works with patients across the lifespan in outpatient rehabilitation and also serves in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation.

"I am passionate about speech-language pathology because of the difference I have seen it make in the lives of patients. Empowering patients of all ages to be successful communicators or to eat safely is very gratifying."

What do you like most about what you do?

continued member Taylor StewartI pursued speech-language pathology because of my love of linguistics and my interest in a career in the medical professions. I learned quickly that there are so many areas to treat or specialize in as a speech-language pathologist. I love that I am able to work across the lifespan and with a wide variety of diagnoses in the outpatient setting. Every day challenges me clinically.

What makes you passionate about the field of speech-language pathology?

I am passionate about speech-language pathology because of the difference I have seen it make in the lives of patients. Empowering patients of all ages to be successful communicators or to eat safely is very gratifying.

What value does online learning hold for you?

Online learning is a great way for me to continue my quest for knowledge. I love continuing education courses, and I enjoy being able to learn online from the comfort of my home.

What impact has Continued had on your ability to advance your training or apply new skills to your area of practice?

I recently began the process of building a pediatric dysphagia/feeding program in our clinic. SpeechPathology.com has allowed me to grow my knowledge base to better serve my clients. I am always impressed by the quality of the presentations, and the information presented is always helpful.

Thank you, Taylor Stewart, for being a part of our Continued story.
