Team members from Continued recently attended the 2019 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention, held Nov. 21-23 in Orlando.

The ASHA Convention is the premier annual professional education event for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists.

This year's convention brought together nearly 15,000 speech-language pathology and audiology students and professionals.

Team members greeted thousands of convention attendees at a booth representing Continued's SpeechPathology.com. Booth visitors received badge ribbons and a SpeechPathology.com-branded insulated tumbler. They could also enter to win one of three grand prizes, which included NorthFace backpacks for the “lifelong journey” filled with an iPad mini, a $100 Amazon gift card, a lifetime SpeechPathology.com membership, and an insulated tumbler.

"I am so grateful that our members have trusted us through the years to help them meet their professional development needs." - Amy Hansen

Having presenters, members, and students stop by the booth to simply say hello and thank us for all that we do is such an amazing feeling. I am so grateful that our members have trusted us through the years to help them meet their professional development needs."

Sister company Simucase was also represented at ASHA 2019. Booth visitors had the opportunity to participate in a lottery, with $1500 in cash prizes awarded. Speech-language pathology students who stopped by the booth could also receive a badge ribbon with the hashtag #slp2b.

In addition to annual participation in the ASHA Convention, Continued and Simucase are avid supporters of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation), which helps provide resources for passionate and promising investigators exploring forward-thinking solutions and conducting groundbreaking research.

Continued and Simucase were featured sponsors of the ASHFoundation’s Dreams and Innovation Fundraiser hosted at Disney’s EPCOT theme park. Attendees were treated to a private event at the French Pavilion on the waters of EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon, which included dinner and a front-row viewing of the evening fireworks show. Attendees also received exclusive access to the popular ride Soarin’—a virtual reality hang gliding experience.

“Our company supports the ASHFoundation because it’s our way to give back to the profession and provide for the future of our field,” said Stacy Williams, PhD, COO of Continued, CEO of Simucase, and ASHFoundation board member. “We’re proud to do our part to advance the mission of the ASHFoundation, which raises crucial funds for student scholarships and research. In doing so, we can help advance the field and improve the lives of people with communication disorders.”
