What is a Continued Respiratory Therapy live webinar?

Continued Respiratory Therapy live webinars are the profession's premier internet-based educational events. The most compelling part of a live webinar is the ability to participate from almost anywhere! All that is required is access to a computer or mobile device with the free Zoom application installed. The live format allows participants to interact with the presenter via question and answer sessions and supports presentation of timely information in an efficient, inexpensive way.


What if I am not available during a live webinar?

All live webinars are recorded and archived on Continued Respiratory Therapy. The video course is available within 2-3 business days following the live webinar. Simply visit us at www.continued.com/respiratory-therapy, click on the "Course Library" link, select the "Video Courses" option, locate the video course, and follow the registration instructions. If you miss a live webinar, you can simply view the recorded version of the course instead.


Can I earn CEUs/Hours for a live webinar?

YES! All live and video courses are available for CEUs/Hours. You will need to check the course listing on Continued Respiratory Therapy for the CE details of a specific course. Once a live webinar has ended, you will be required to take a short multiple-choice exam to earn your CEUs/Hours. You must remain logged in for the complete duration of the live webinar to access the exam. The exam must be complete within 7 days of the live webinar to earn CEUs/Hours. Please note: Full attendance is required. If you log in late or log out early, you may not be able to earn CE credit for the live webinar. Login and logout times are recorded and documented.


How do I register for a live webinar?

Simply visit us at www.continued.com/respiratory-therapy and log in to your account. Click on the "Course Library" link, select the "Live Webinars" option, and locate the live webinars to review. To register for your course, simply select the "Register Now" button.


What do I need to participate in a live webinar?​

  • Windows- or Mac-based computer

  • iOS, Android, or Surface Pro 2 (or higher) mobile device 

  • Broadband internet connection

  • Zoom Client for Meetings

  • Speakers and/or headphones connected to your computer to listen to the presentation

  • To ensure your computer is prepared, join a Zoom test meeting.

  • If you experience connectivity issues, please close all other windows/programs and utilize a hard-wired connection. 

Using a mobile device? Please note you must install the free Zoom app on your mobile device. The app is available from the Apple Store or Google Play.

 

Can I take a test drive to check my system?

Yes! Join a Zoom test meeting to check your speakers, microphone, and connection. NOTE: If you cannot successfully join the Zoom test meeting, please contact us immediately at 866-382-0799 for assistance with troubleshooting.


How do I log into a live webinar?

We recommend that you log in to a live webinar 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time in case there are any login issues with your computer. Please make sure you have all the needed software/hardware installed on your computer as listed above. If you are prompted to install the Zoom Application, please do so.

 

There are two easy ways to log in to a live webinar:

  1. When you registered for the live webinar, you were sent an email that contained an invitation link. Click on the invitation link in the email and you will be automatically logged in to the session. Once you are logged in, the Event Moderator will instruct you on how to interact within the course.

  2. Log in to your continued Respiratory Therapy user account and navigate to your Dashboard. Your live webinars are listed on the right along with a button labeled "Attend Now." Click the "Attend Now" button up to 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the webinar to enter the online classroom.

During the live webinar how do I download copies of the handouts?

 

If handouts are available, they can be accessed during the live webinar via the Zoom chat. The event moderator will place a link to the event page to download the handouts via a web browser. Note: you must be logged into your  account to access the handouts. If you log in late, privately message the moderator via the Q&A for the file link.


It is at the discretion of the presenter if there will be any handouts for a given course; not all live webinars will have handouts that can be downloaded and printed out. Download files are typically in PDF format. Click to download and install Adobe Reader (free).


During the live webinar how do I ask the presenter questions? Do I need a microphone?

To ask a question of the presenter, simply type your question in the Zoom Q&A window and click send. You may select to send questions anonymously. A microphone is not required to participate in a live webinar.


How do I earn CEUs/Hours for participating in a live webinar?

If a course is offered for CEUs/hours, once the webinar has ended you will be required to take a short multiple-choice exam to earn your CEUs/hours and complete the process. I need help logging into a live webinar – Troubleshooting 

Here are the most common steps you can take if you are having trouble logging into a live webinar or if you experience any difficulty during the webinar.

 

Step 1: Make note of any error message you have seen. This will be important if you need to call for technical support.

 

Step 2: Make sure that you have installed the latest version of the Zoom Client for Meetings. You can also join the Zoom test meeting to check your system setup. If you are unable to join the Zoom test meeting, please contact Technical Support for assistance at 866-382-0799 (select option 3).

 

Step 3: Enter the live webinar by logging into your Continued Respiratory Therapy CEU account.

 
  1. Log in to your Continued Respiratory Therapy account by clicking the “Sign In'” button.

  2. Navigate to your Dashboard.

  3. Find the live webinar listed on the right.

  4. Click on the "Attend Now" button

 

NOTE: The Attend Now button will only allow you to log in to the live webinar during the scheduled time of the live webinar.

 

If you are logged into your event and experience audio problems, please make sure your speakers/headphones are connected to your computer securely, turned on with the volume at mid-level, and not muted.
