State Approval Information for Illinois
The following courses are accepted by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. They accept courses approved by AARC, and these courses have been approved by AARC for Continuing Respiratory Care Education.
- There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online.
- First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements.
- 1 hour in sexual harassment prevention required. Continued Respiratory Therapy offers courses that may meet the sexual harassment prevention requirement.
- 1 hour of implicit bias awareness training required per renewal period. Continued Respiratory Therapy offers courses that may meet the implicit awareness requirement.
- 1 hour in cultural competency required every 6 years. Continued Respiratory Therapy offers courses that may meet the cultural competency requirement.
- At least a 1 hour course on the training of diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with Alzheimer's disease. Continued Respiratory Therapy offers courses that may meet the Alzheimer's disease requirement.
