State Approval Information for Maryland

The following courses are accepted by the Maryland Board of Physicians - Respiratory Care. They accept courses approved by AARC, and these courses have been approved by AARC for Continuing Respiratory Care Education.

  • There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online.
  • First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements.
  • Effective October 1, 2025, all health occupation license and certificate renewal applicants in Maryland must complete recognized training programs on both implicit bias and structural racism. These trainings must be approved by the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities in coordination with the Cultural and Linguistic Health Care Professional Competency Program. The Maryland Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities website lists approved training for each requirement.
