Motivational Interviewing is a counseling method by which social workers can help clients identify barriers and facilitators to making psychosocial changes for the improvement of one’s overall quality of life. - After this course, participants will be able to define Motivational Interviewing (MI) and its role in counseling clients and families with psychosocial support needs.
- After this course, participants will be able to explain the utility/function of MI in social work and its role in improving health care outcomes, as delineated in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
- After this course, participants will be able to identify the methodology implemented in healthcare provider (HCP) training and patient health education documentation to include a smartphone application developed to increase HCP competency, ACA, and insurance reimbursement compliance.
