I felt that she was frequently off topic. She used the term "suicided" the act of a person who died by suicide. She used the term over and over again.

The presenter had great content and experience to share, but it was hard to make out the valuable content in her somewhat train-of-thought storytelling about her personal live. Way too much of this presentation focused on her background, which I'm not sure she successfully tied into the topic, in a way that was easy to comprehend.

This course spoke to my very own self, and how to practice better self-care when needed. We as social workers go through many forms of burn-out and vicarious trauma. It's good to be aware of the signs and when you need to take a break for yourself.

It was difficult to follow presenter. Although I like the stories she presented, It was hard to link them with how I prevent burnout as a social worker. She gave too many personal stories that I didn't think it related to the topic. Slides also had minimal information. It was more like a TED talk than a training about the burnout.

The presenter did not follow a clear path in the presentation. She brought up topics in the middle of the discussion about another topic, without making her point well enough to see how the new topic related. While the case examples were very interesting, it was not always clear how they connected to where she was in the presentation. Usually, case examples reinforce current discussion. Also, in my opinion, there was too much time spent on differentiating between burnout and depression.

I enjoyed that the presenter had so much experience in social justice and also knew what it was like prior to insurance companies running treatment. I liked she discussed moral injury which I had heard doctors discuss but not social workers. I have worked community mental health where its all about productivity and because of the shortages poor work performance and client care was covered over and individuals that wanted to give good service but having to fight to get basic care for people.

The presenter had a lot of good ideas but went on a lot of tangents, and the line between where something we actually had to know as fact versus a personal experience we were supposed to follow blurred. Like what was the point about the wedding story? Or the Alice story. Some of the anecdotes helped but most of them didn't go anywhere. I wish there were more concrete facts on burnout as a syndrome, especially in the pandemic and for the SW profession.
