Dr. Strange is a pulmonary and critical care specialist in chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he has been faculty for the past 35 years. He is a grant reviewer for the Chest Foundation and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Dr. Strange is on the NHLBI Pulmonary Data Safety Monitoring Board and is a committee member for the Alpha-1 Foundation Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee. For the American Thoracic Society, Dr. Strange is a member of the Ziskind Clinical Research Scholar Award Committee and chair the Documents Committee. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and participates as Principal Investigator on current research initiatives in which he holds a longstanding interest in bronchoscopic methods to improve COPD outcomes.
