Continued named one of the 2020 Best Small & Medium Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work® and Fortune

Great Place to Work® and Fortune have honored Continued as one of the 2020 Best Small & Medium Workplaces™. Continued, a leading provider of online continuing education, took the 28th spot out of 100 featured companies on the list of medium-sized businesses.

This ranking is based on confidential survey feedback representing more than 189,000 employees working at small- and medium-sized businesses in the United States.

Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and company culture research firm, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job. These included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team.

“We at Continued are extremely honored to receive this designation for a third year—and for the first time in the medium-sized company category,” said CEO Tony Perlak. “As our company has grown in size, our commitment to culture has not wavered, and that has been all the more meaningful in this challenging year.

“To achieve this ranking on the medium-sized companies list is incredibly exciting and affirms our team members’ shared commitment to collaboration, creative thinking, lifelong learning, and ongoing progress.”

The Best Small & Medium Workplaces stand out for excelling in high-trust workplace culture. In addition to being innovators in the field of online learning, Continued has been a 100% virtual workplace from its inception and prioritizes workplace culture as a fundamental building block of the company.

“The culture at Continued is consistently reinforced throughout the company, and this commitment to culture has been particularly meaningful this year given the many challenges people have faced in their families and communities,” said Asher Primrose, Director of Human Resources for Continued. “I believe our company culture has eased some of the difficulties our work family has faced in 2020, and I am so proud to see Continued recognized on this esteemed list.”

Continued has placed the highest value on culture since its inception in 1999. In recent years, the company has focused on enhancing its culture in various ways. Some of these initiatives include “best in class” channels to connect in a virtual environment, flexible holidays and time off programs, a company book club, charitable gift matching, and a robust wellness program.

“Best Workplaces like Continued have built dynamic, flexible, and transparent workplaces founded on trust,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “This gives companies on this list a powerful opportunity not just to do well for their people but also to do well for their businesses.”

The Best Small & Medium Workplaces list is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations. Continued also was ranked as a Best Workplace for Women by Great Place to Work and Fortune in 2020.

About the Best Small & Medium Workplaces

To determine the 2020 Best Small Workplaces list and the 2020 Best Medium Workplaces list, Great Place to Work® gathered and analyzed confidential survey feedback representing more than 189,000 employees working in small- and medium-sized businesses in the United States.  Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a great place to work For All™.

Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. Great Place to Work analyzes these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical relative to their peers in the industry.

The remaining 15 percent of the rank is based on assessing how consistent employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and their leaders' effectiveness are.
