The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) has announced two scholarship recipients supported by the AudiologyOnline Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program.
The AudiologyOnline Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program recognizes Student Academy of Doctors of Audiology (SADA) members who demonstrate academic excellence, contribute to their community outside of the classroom, and have a compelling vision for audiology’s future.
“As a doctorate-level profession, we recognize that audiology requires intense personal and professional commitments from students over many years,” said Christy Huynh, AuD, managing editor of AudiologyOnline.
“Audiology care is an important part of overall healthcare for people of all ages, and the demand for audiologists is projected to grow exponentially in the next few years. We see these scholarships as a means to help support talented audiology students and also as an investment in the future of our profession.”
Doctor of Audiology students Daria Collins, a student at City University of New York, and EmilyAnn Duffley, a student at Northwestern University, are the recipients of $2500 each. They will also receive a lifetime membership to AudiologyOnline.
“Through my doctorate and externship, I am learning how to help children to the absolute best of my ability with evidence-based practice techniques from leaders in our field,” said EmilyAnn Duffley, audiology student at Northwestern University and AudiologyOnline Emerging Leaders Scholarship recipient. “These top-notch educational experiences are associated with lots of unpaid hours and a huge tuition bill, so this scholarship alleviates some of the financial burden of graduate school and is much appreciated.”
AudiologyOnline offers 1500+ online courses developed by leading audiologists and industry experts and is part of the Continued family of continuing education websites.
