The American Academy of Audiology Foundation (AAAF) has announced two scholarship recipients supported by a contribution from AudiologyOnline.
AudiologyOnline donates to the AAAF Continued Achievement Scholarship, which benefits qualified students currently enrolled in AuD, PhD, or AuD/PhD programs who show exceptional promise in providing outstanding patient care as clinical audiologists.
This year’s recipients of $2000 scholarships each are:
John Williams, University of Mississippi Medical Center
“As someone with personal experience of hearing loss, this award allows me to pursue my education and clinical training without the financial burden of expenses like textbooks and professional conferences. Through this scholarship, I can prioritize becoming a clinician who makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with hearing loss.”
Elaine Shaw, Towson University
“Balancing the costs of graduate school with the desire to pursue opportunities for learning and growth can be challenging. This scholarship eases that burden and empowers me to focus on expanding my skills and contributing meaningfully to the field of audiology. I am deeply grateful to AudiologyOnline for their generosity and commitment to supporting students.”
In addition to the scholarship, both recipients will receive a lifetime subscription to AudiologyOnline to support their lifelong learning.
“As a doctorate-level profession, we recognize that audiology requires intense personal and professional commitments from students over many years,” said Carolyn Smaka, AuD, director of content strategy. “We see these scholarships as a means to help support talented audiology students and also as an investment in the future of our profession.”
