How many CE hours does Pennsylvania require for social workers?

LBSW/LSW/LCSW: 30 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire on 2/28 of odd-numbered years.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Social Work?

Yes. Continued is an ASWB ACE provider and the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

LBSW/LSW/LCSW:

There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online.
3 hours of ethics each renewal cycle. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
1 hour of suicide prevention each renewal cycle. Continued offers courses that may meet the suicide prevention requirement.
2 hours of child abuse recognition and reporting each renewal cycle. Continued Social Work offers a child abuse reporting course approved by the PA board. We do not offer a 3 hour course for initial licensure.

Continued, provider #1742, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 03/27/2024 – 03/27/2027.
