How many CE hours does Oregon require for social workers?

• RBSW: 20 hours every 2 years.

• LMSW: 30 hours every 2 years.

• LCSW: 40 hours every 2 years.

Licenses expire on the last day of the licensee's birth month.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Social Work?

Yes. Continued is an ASWB ACE provider, and the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

• There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online.
• First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements.

RBSW:

• 3 hours of ethics every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
• 3 hours of cultural competency every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the cultural competency requirement.

LMSW:

• 4 hours of ethics every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
• 4 hours of cultural competency every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the cultural competency requirement.

LCSW:

• 6 hours of ethics every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.

• In addition to the above requirements, continuing education hours must be related to clinical social work. Continued offers clinical courses that may meet this requirement.
