How many CE hours does Missouri require for social workers?

• LBSW/LMSW/LCSW/LAMSW: 30 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire on 9/30 (half on even-numbered years, half on odd-numbered years.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Social Work?

Yes. Continued is an ASWB ACE provider, and the Missouri Committee for Social Workers accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

LBSW/LMSW/LCSW/LAMSW:

• There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 15 of the 30 required hours must be through LIVE interactive webinars. Continued offers live courses.
  • The State Committee for Social Workers voted that for the 2024 and 2025 renewal periods, the 15-hour limit of correspondence courses has been waived. All licensees will still be required to do the required hours of continuing professional education, but these hours can be any combination of live programs, webinars and correspondence courses, and other approved methods.
• 3 hours of ethics every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
• 2 hours of suicide assessment, referral, treatment, and management training every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the suicide prevention requirement.
• 3 hours of explicit or implicit bias, diversity, inclusion, or cultural awareness/competency/humility every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the cultural requirement.
