How many CE hours does Minnesota require for social workers?

• LSW/LGSW/LISW/LICSW: 40 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire on the last day of the licensee's birth month (depending on the year of issuance).

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Social Work?

Yes. Continued is an ASWB ACE provider, and the Minnesota Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

• There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 20 of the 40 required hours must be through live interactive webinars. Continued offers live courses.

LSW/LGSW/LISW:

• 2 hours of ethics every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
• 4 hours of cultural responsiveness every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the cultural responsiveness requirement.

LICSW:

• 2 hours of ethics every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
• 4 hours of cultural responsiveness every two years. Continued offers courses that may meet the cultural responsiveness requirement.
• At least 12 of the required 40 hours must be in clinical content each renewal. Continued offers clinical courses that may meet this requirement.

Licensing Supervisors:
