How many CE hours does Michigan require for social workers?

• LBSW/LMSW: 45 hours every 3 years. Licenses expire on a rolling basis.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Social Work?

Yes. Continued is an ASWB ACE provider, and the Michigan Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

LBSW/LMSW:

• There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 22.5 (or 50%) of the 45 hours must be through LIVE interactive webinars. Continued offers live courses.
• 5 hours of ethics each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics requirement.
• 2 hours of pain/symptom management or stress management each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the pain symptom management requirement.
• 2 hours of human trafficking each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the Human Trafficking requirement.
• In addition to the 45-hour CE requirement, 1 hour of implicit bias training is also required for each year of the renewal cycle (3 hours total).

CE Broker Reporting:

• Proof of required CE must be electronically submitted directly to CE Broker. Continued will report course completions to CE Broker for approved courses. You may also self-report to CE Broker. The Continued provider number for CE Broker is 50-29950.
