How many CE hours does Georgia require for social workers?

Can I use this site to earn my continuing education hours?

  • Yes, we are an ASWB ACE provider, and the Georgia Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

LMSW/LCSW

  • 5 hours of ethics each renewal period. The Board requires that ethics courses be obtained through synchronous activities only. Synchronous activities require participants and instructors to be present at the same time.
  • Of the remaining 30 hours, a minimum of fifteen (15) shall be core hours and not more than fifteen (15) shall be related hours.
    • Core hours mean continuing education hours acquired in activities in the specialty in which the license is held; e.g. social work core hours must reflect social work content.
    • Related hours mean continuing education hours acquired in activities in a specialty other than the one in which the license is held.
  • A maximum of 10 hours of continuing education may be obtained through self-paced/asynchronous activities.
  • 25 hours must be through live/synchronous activities

Continued, provider #1742, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 03/27/2024 – 03/27/2027.
