How many CE hours does Alaska require for social workers?

  • 45 hours every 2 years

Can I use this site to earn my continuing education hours?

• Yes, we are an ASWB ACE provider, and the Alaska Board of Social Work Examiners accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

LBSW/LMSW/LCSW:

• There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 10 hours must be completed through live/synchronous courses.

  • We do not currently offer courses specific to Alaskan Natives; however, you can explore general cultural competence courses.
    • First biennial renewals: All 6 hours must be relevant to Alaskan Natives.
    • All subsequent renewals: 3 of the 6 required hours must be relevant to Alaskan Natives.
• For the licensing period that begins after June 30, 2026: Clinical supervisors shall complete an additional six hours of continuing education in supervision or supervisory practices during each biennial licensing period.
