I liked the story telling aspect of the class. The presenter made it interesting from speaking directly to the students, rather than reading. I also appreciated that she was succinct, and spoke more slowly than some of the other presenters, who seem to cram in so much info that it gets a little overwhelming. Very enjoyable and motivating class.

Helpful material to use as a Social Worker and in companies. I liked this woman's style in her presentation. She was informative, but not in a way that had one feel bad about themselves for how our society is. She had me think/hope for us to be able to do better. I liked her initial story in the sense of how racism is present ... and how one individual can possibly make an impact. She also made her presentation about all cultures ... diversity in the sense of all cultures ... and marginalized of different groups, not just one group.

I found some different ideas to bring to our student led equity council about ways to also evaluate the culture of the school.

The instructor's use of personal stories helped to better highlight the need to work towards a more culturally inclusive practice. The course gave a good overview of terminology related to cultural inclusivity, as well as a continuum to help understand an organization's current standing on cultural competence. I enjoyed learning about the need to work beyond cultural competence and towards cultural humility and how it is linked with the empathy that is at the center of social work practice.

The presenter's style is heartfelt, brilliant, integrative, and well-organized. It went so much deeper than most courses, and it really challenged a lot of superficial organizational attempts at appearing culturally competent. For the eval question "How much did this course increase your confidence in this topic area?" I answered 3, because I realize in this moment how much I need to dig deeper, relearn, and keep relearning. I don't want to be too confident, otherwise I'll have missed the point.

Then stories and examples provided were helpful in supporting the training. I felt the course provided a good explanation of how to become more culturally inclusive and did mention that this is not just a race but other "ism" related.
