The more educated you become through the years, the more you ask DR about why they are making the decisions they are making, the greater your knowledge and experience become. I have been a RT for 30 years, absolutely love learning. Thank you for this uplifting topic, I appreciate it.

I have been feeling useless as an RT in our post COVID world. I was emotionally and physically exhausted having lost several patients due to lack of equipment, meds, staff, ineffective vent modalities, etc. I ran so hard for so long at work during COVID that I bought myself a double knee replacement. I have felt like giving up and changing careers and, I still might need to but, no longer because I'm burned out, more because of my physical limitations but, I'm going to keep trying.

Evans lectures are consistently presented with fantastic content that is joined together with solid illustrations to convey the subject matter in such a way that every RT from novice to seasoned to walk away understanding their craft better. Specifically, the blended information behind the concept of "double helical bidirectional flow" becomes a "Oh yeah! That makes sense" moment. Thanks

I have had lost several RT's recently to burnout and or retirement, I realize I have stopped addressing their successes and wins. We all need a little recognition, but I started telling then we are like ghosts in the night, we sneak in fix the problem and disappear back to our equipment storage closet.

RTs are a vital part of clinical outcomes with all pts that they touch. Great therapists channel their hearts that feed their brains with the desire to think outside the box. People are not cookie cutter and have to be treated as such. Great stories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been a therapist for 47 yrs and everyday we play a vital part in people's lives. I liked the way he ended it, especially. But, also, confidence, is as RTs believing in ourselves and our discipline as RTs, sometimes we do have to step up even over doctors and say hey, this is what I think. And, we do save lives..over and over and over..

Overall theme of doing good for the patient is the reward in itself when the patient overcomes the odds and survives and thrives, and that as RTs, we are integral part of the healthcare team responsible for patients' recoveries, whether we get the recognition or not. It's good to acknowledge each other as colleagues, especially when other medical field fail to do so to boost morale and encourage each other in difficult times. His stories of other RTs he knows, in their fight for their patients!
