How many CE Hours does North Carolina require for psychologists?

• Psychologist/Psychological Associate/Provisional Psychologist: 24 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire on 10/1 in even-numbered years.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Psychology?

Yes. Continued is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The North Carolina Psychology Board accepts courses offered by APA approved providers for psychologist license renewal.

• The North Carolina Psychology Board requires a minimum of 15 continuing education (CE) hours obtained from Category A courses. As an APA approved sponsor of continuing education, Continued Psychology offers Category A courses. Refer to board rules for further clarification of course categories.
• Licensees are required to obtain 3 CE hours in the area of ethics in the professional practice of psychology. Continued offers courses that may meet this requirement.

CE Broker Reporting: 

• Proof of required CE must be electronically submitted directly to CE Broker. Continued will report course completions to CE Broker for approved courses. You may also self-report to CE Broker. The Continued provider number for CE Broker is 50-29950.
