How many CE Hours does New York require for psychologists?

• Psychologist: 36 hours every 3 years. License expires every 3 years based on the date of issuance.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Psychology?

Yes. Continued is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists #PSY-0228.

• There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 24 of the 36 required hours must be through live interactive webinars. Continued offers live courses.
• Licensees are required to obtain 3 CE hours in professional ethics, including the laws, rules and regulations for practice in New York. Continued offers courses that may meet this requirement.
• Licensees are required to obtain 3 CE hours on appropriate boundaries. Continued offers courses that may meet this requirement.
• There is a one-time requirement at initial licensure, to complete two hours of coursework or training regarding the identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment. Continued does not currently offer this course.
