How many CE Hours does Michigan require for psychologists?

• Psychologist/Limited License Psychologist: 30 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire every 2 years based on the date of issuance.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Psychology?

Yes. Continued is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Michigan Board of Psychology accepts courses offered by APA approved providers for psychologist license renewal.

• The Michigan Board of Psychology required licensees to obtain 2 continuing education (CE) hours in pain management, including but not limited to courses in behavior management, psychology of pain, pharmacology, behavior modification, stress management, clinical applications, and drug interventions as they relate to professional practice. Continued offers courses that may meet this requirement.
• Licensees are required to obtain 3 CE hours in ethics. Continued offers courses that meet this requirement.
• Licensees are required to obtain 1 hour in implicit bias training per year during their licensure cycle for renewing licensure. Continued offers courses that may meet this requirement.
• The Michigan Board of Psychology has a one-time requirement for initial licensees to complete training in identifying victims of human trafficking. Continued offers courses that may meet this requirement.
• The Michigan Board of Psychology does not allow for more than 12 CE hours to be earned during one 24-hour period.
