How many CE Hours does Kentucky require for psychologists?

  • Psychologist/Psychological Associate: 
    • 39 hours every 3 years
    • License expires every 3 years based on the date of issuance

Can I use this site to earn my continuing education hours?

  • Yes, we are approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology accepts courses offered by APA approved providers for license renewal.

Other Information

  • The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology indicates that licensees may obtain a maximum of 12 CE hours in self-study courses. 
  • In addition to self-study courses, licensees may obtain up to 24 hours of continuing education (CE) hours live, interactive videoconferencing participation. 
  • Licensees are required to obtain 6 CE hours in suicide assessment, treatment, and management within the first year of licensure and every 6 years thereafter. 
  • Licensees are required to obtain 3 CE hours in ethical practice or risk management. 
  • If supervising a licensed psychologist or psychological associate, then the licensee is required to obtain a minimum of 3 CE hours in supervision or techniques each renewal period.
