How many CE Hours does Dist. of Columbia require for psychologists?

  • Psychologist/Psychology Associate: 
    • 30 hours every 2 years
    • License expires on 12/31 of odd numbered years

Can I use this site to earn my continuing education hours?

  • Yes, we are approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The DC Health Psychology Licensing Board accepts courses offered by APA approved providers.

Other Information

  • The DC Board of Psychology requires that a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education must be obtained through live programs. Live programs are defined as continuing education activities that provide direct, real-time interaction between presenter(s) and participants. 
  • Licensees are required to obtain 3 continuing education (CE) hours in ethics. 
  • Licensees are required to obtain 2 hours in LGBTQ continuing education. 
  • Licensees are required to obtain 2 hours in SARS CoV 2 Vaccines continuing education for the 12/31/23 licensure renewal. We do not currently offer courses to meet this requirement. Please check back.
  • In addition, 10% of the total required CE must be in subjects determined by the Department of Health as public health priorities of the district. (This list of topics is published on the board website.)
