Can I use this site to earn my continuing education hours?

  • Yes, we are approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology accepts courses offered by APA-approved providers.

Other Information

Psychologists:

  • The Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology recommends mandated reporters to complete the Alabama State Board of Human Resources' free online Mandated Child Abuse/Neglect Reporter Training program. Note: This training does not count toward annual continuing education requirements.
  • For new licensees, continuing education hours are prorated based on the date of initial licensure.
  • A maximum of 6 hours accrued in excess during a given year may be credited (carried over) to the subsequent year and must be submitted by the annual renewal date of 10/15.
  • Hours cannot be carried over for more than one year.

Psychological Technician:

  • A maximum of 3 hours accrued in excess during a given year may be credited (carried over) to the subsequent year and must be submitted by the annual renewal date of 10/15.
  • Hours cannot be carried over for more than one year.
