Psychological Considerations when Treating People with Serious Mental Illness in an Inpatient Setting is presented by Deanna Metropoulos, Psy.D. This course provides a one-hour overview of considerations necessary for behavioral health clinicians when working in an inpatient facility. Specifically, it will focus on working with individuals with serious mental illness. This course reviews empirically supported treatments and assessment practices within an inpatient setting.

An Overview of Competency Restoration is presented by Deanna Metropoulos, Psy.D. This training program will provide an overview of restoration programs provided across the country in efforts to respond to the competency crisis in the United States. This training program will incorporate an overview of the competency and the crisis, as well as up-to-date research on restoration practices.

This training program will provide an overview of the Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychologists and behavioral health professionals working in forensic settings, as well as an opportunity to utilize a case-based approach to review common ethical challenges forensic psychologists and forensic-based behavioral health clinicians may encounter. This training program will incorporate up-to-date research, as well as incorporate the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and the Specialty Guidelines.

This course examines the ethical handling of subpoenas and provides guidance for clinical professionals as it relates to preparing for depositions or trial hearings.

This course will focus on the impact of incarceration and the re-entry process for returning citizens.

This presentation will help participants develop ethical, self-protective strategies to avoid a high-risk case turning into a nightmare case! Participants will be introduced to a simple step-by-step approach for ethically responding to subpoenas for records, depositions, and preparing for litigation events, such as depositions and trial testifying.
