Domestic Violence CE Courses for Psychologists

Incorporating the patterns of coercive control in domestic violence assessments has been shown to have the most long-term impact on victims and survivors. This course explores strategies for moving away from assessing domestic violence from an incident model approach to incorporate the patterns of coercive control into assessment.

Intimate partner violence occurs in all communities, although this course will examine the dynamics of intimate partner violence in Black communities. In addition, this course will explore culturally sensitive assessments and interventions.

This two part course is designed to provide an overview of intimate partner violence (IPV), its causes, the prevalence, and its impact on victims as well as children. In addition, this course explores elder abuse and discusses assessment for IPV and elder abuse and intervention strategies.

This course defines Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and reviews how IPV manifests in relationships and how mental health practitioners should assess for IPV and intervene with both victims and perpetrators. This course also addresses elder abuse and assessing and intervening with elder abuse.

This course discusses how trauma negatively impacts the processing of one’s memories and experiences. Information is provided on the use of digital storytelling with survivors of intimate partner violence as a trauma narrative intervention.

This course discusses the causes and impact of intimate partner violence. Information is provided on resistance to and recovery from intimate violence.
