How many CE hours does New Jersey require for massage therapists?

• 20 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire on 11/30 of even years.

Can I earn my continuing education hours through Continued Massage Therapy?

Yes, a portion of your hours can be obtained online. Continued Massage Therapy is an NCBTMB Approved Provider, and the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy accepts courses approved by NCBTMB.

• Up to 6 CE hours may be earned online. Continued Massage Therapy offers online courses to help meet your CE requirements.
• Massage therapists must complete 2 hours in ethics each renewal period. Continued Massage Therapy offers courses that may meet the 2-hour ethics requirement.
• Massage therapists must complete 1 hour in the laws and rules pertinent to the practice of massage and bodywork therapy. Continued Massage Therapy offers courses that may meet the 1-hour laws and rules requirement. 
• Courses that are related solely to the business practice of licensees will not satisfy continuing education requirements. 
• Upon renewal, licensee must attest to current certification in CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) from courses offered by the American Heart Association or a substantially similar course approved or offered by the American Red Cross or other approved entities.
