How many CE hours does Georgia require for massage therapists?

• 24 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire 10/31 of even years.

Can I earn my continuing education hours through Continued Massage Therapy?

Yes, a portion of your hours can be obtained online. Continued Massage Therapy is an NCBTMB Approved Provider, and the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy accepts courses approved by NCBTMB.

• The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy does not pre-approve continuing education courses and CE Broker does not approve courses for the Board. Licensees are responsible for reviewing the Georgia Massage Therapy Practice Act and the Board Rules regarding continuing education and continuing education providers to select courses related to the practice of massage therapy that are offered by an approved provider.  
• Continuing Education (CE) courses that are offered by a NCBTMB Approved Provider do not guarantee Board approval. All acceptable CE for Georgia licensees must also fall within the scope of practice of massage as defined in the Georgia Massage Therapy Practice Act (Title 43 Chapter 24A). When selecting continuing education courses, it is important to review the O.C.G.A. §§ 43-24A-3(8-9) and 43-24A-19(a)(5-8) and Board Rule 345-4-.02 to ensure that you are taking courses that meet the Board's criteria.
• 12 CE hours may be earned online. Continued Massage Therapy offers online courses to help meet your CE requirements.
• 12 hours must include direct hands-on supervised instruction.
