Physical Therapy Managing Editor - Simucase

Simucase (sister company to continued.com) is looking for a talented, driven Managing Editor to develop and maintain a collection of online PT simulations and patient video observations with knowledge/comprehension assessments. This position is focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for our members.

Responsibilities:

Simulation Development and Support: Strategically develop and maintain the simulation and patient video library based on university program course offerings, following procedures and protocols to secure protected health information.  Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the recruitment and identification of individual patient simulations based off university program needs - simulations may be submitted by university faculty members, practicing PTs and/or patients
  • Serve as the key point-person to tailor the simulation platform to the physical therapy profession, merging information about discipline-specific standards, content requirements, and best practice to meet clinical learning objectives, as endorsed by the profession
  • Manage and complete all necessary elements for a patient simulation: case history/patient background information, professional collaborators, assessments/intervention activities, diagnoses and recommendations
  • Complete an assessment plan executed by the practicing PT and submit to board members identified as experts in a given PT specialty area to review and approve the overall clinical assessment plan
  • Assist with uploading and programming of all patient videos/audio files/still images/content assets for data entry into the Simucase™ administration system
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance of current patient simulations when applicable

Content/Question Generation: Develop strategies and methods to generate general knowledge/comprehension assessment questions pertaining to specific clinical topic areas in an efficient and optimal manner from designated subject matter experts. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Content Questions:
    • Review/edit/revise questions from SMEs and/or clinical experts to publish to Simucase database
    • Upload and embed questions into the Simucase Patient Video Library videos

General Duties: The PT Managing Editor takes part in the general operations of the website to coordinate simulation development efforts with other departments. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create educational/marketing materials as needed
  • Provide additional customer/student support as needed
  • Work with universities and students as needed to support Simucase sales and education (i.e. training students and faculty)
  • Support sales efforts and initiatives by providing academic knowledge and expertise when needed
  • Collaborate with Simucase team members on simulation content and related projects
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements and assess the usability of web site enhancements for Simucase
  • Evaluate web site operations and participation for all Simucase students/faculty and recommend enhancements
  • Assist in collaborative research projects with universities as needed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • DPT or higher
  • 5+ years clinical work experience
  • Prior simulation experience is encouraged but not required
  • High level of comfort learning new technologies
  • Top notch written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Extremely reliable and motivated to go the extra mile 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work from home during regular business hours
  • Ability to travel occasionally for an annual company meeting, out-of-state trade shows and team member meetings

Performance Measurements:

The PT Managing Editor will be held accountable and performance will be evaluated on the following:

  • Simulation development schedule: Production of 1 simulation per month in accordance with development timelines and budgets
  • Patient video library with knowledge/comprehension question publication schedule: 10 interactive observation videos with questions per month and maintaining the question database over time
  • Content Evaluations: Consistently average to above average simulation and question evaluations
