How many CE Credits does Oklahoma require for counselors?

Professionals licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure:
- LPC: 20 hours per year. License expires on 6/30 annually.
- LMFT: 20 hours per year. License expires on 12/31 annually.
Professionals licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors:
- CADC, LADC, LADC/MH: 20 hours per year. Licenses expire on 6/30 annually.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Counseling?

Licensed Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists: Yes. Continued is an approved provider of continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure. Find courses offered for OK LPCs and LMFTs. The Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure also accepts courses by NAADAC approved providers. Addiction Counselors: Yes. The Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors approves continuing education providers. Continued has been approved as an Education provider for the OBLADC, provider #20240165. Find courses offered for OK Addiction Counselors.

Licensees are responsible for completing courses that align with the content requirements for their specific license.

Other Information

Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marriage and Family Counselors:

There is no limit to the amount of continuing education hours that can be obtained online.
3 hours must be obtained in ethics each renewal. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics course requirement.
If a supervisor, licensees must obtain 3 hours of supervision each renewal. Continued offers courses that may meet the supervision course requirement.

Addiction Counselors:

There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 10 of the 20 required hours must be through live interactive webinars. Continued offers live courses.
CADC:
- 3 hours of ethics each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics course requirement.
- 10 hours of drug and alcohol specific content each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the drug and alcohol course requirement.
LADC:
- 3 hours of ethics each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics course requirement.
- 10 hours of drug and alcohol specific content each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the drug and alcohol course requirement.
- 10 hours of mental health specific content each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the mental health course requirement.
- 3 hours of supervision (if supervisor) each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the supervision course requirement.
LADC/MH:
- 20 hours of continuing education hours must be on topics categorized by the Board as Co-Occurring, or consist of:
  - 10 hours of drug and alcohol specific content each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the drug and alcohol course requirement.
  - 10 hours of mental health specific content each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the mental health course requirement.
