How many CE Credits does Nevada require for counselors?

Professionals licensed by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Professional Counselors:
- MFT and CPC: 40 hours every 2 years. License expires on 1/1 even-numbered years.
Professionals licensed by the Nevada State Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug, and Gambling Counselors:
- LADC, LCADC, CPGC, CADC, CADC-I, CPGC-I, CLADC-I: 40 hours every 2 years. 10 hours may be required every 6 months. License expires biennially.

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Counseling?

Licensed Professional Counselors and Marriage & Family Therapists: Yes. Courses on Continued can be used to meet the continuing education requirements set by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners.
Addiction Counselors: Yes. The Nevada State Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug, and Gambling Counselors accepts courses by NAADAC approved providers. Continued is a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, #283836. Find courses approved by NAADAC.

Licensees are responsible for completing courses that align with the content requirements for their specific license.

Other Information

MFT and CPC:

A maximum of 20 hours may be obtained from home-study courses. Continued offers home-study audio, video, and text courses.
There is no limit to the number of hours that can be earned through online, live interactive courses. Continued offers live courses.
6 hours must be obtained in ethics each renewal. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics course requirement.
4 hours must be obtained in suicide each renewal. Continued offers courses that may meet the suicide course requirement.
If the licensee is a supervisor, 2 hours must be obtained in supervision. Continued offers courses that may meet the supervision course requirement.

LADC, LCADC, CPGC, CADC, CADC-I, CPGC-I, CLADC-I:

Continuing education should contain current and relevant educational material, which concerns alcohol and drug abuse and is applicable to the practice of counseling alcohol and drug abusers.
There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online.
3 hours of ethics each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the ethics course requirement.
3 hours of confidentiality each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the confidentiality course requirement.
3 hours of suicide prevention each renewal period. Continued offers courses that may meet the suicide prevention course requirement.
