How many CE Credits does Maryland require for counselors?
Professionals licensed by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists:
LCPC, LGPC, LCMFT, Behavior Analyst (LBA), LPAT, LGPAT, Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCADC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT): 40 hours every 2 years. License expiration varies depending on the credential.
- LCPC, LCMFT, LBA, LCADC, LCPAT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD: Biennially on 1/31, based on year of issuance.
- LGPC, LGMFT, LGADC, LGPAT, ADT: Biennially based on date of issuance.
Can I take my continuing education through Continued Counseling?
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors/Marriage & Family Therapists/Addiction Counselors: Yes. For Professionals licensed through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, the Board accepts courses by NBCC and NAADAC approved providers. Continued has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7484. Continued is a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, #283836. Find courses offered for NBCC credit, or courses approved by NAADAC.
