How many CE Credits does Georgia require for counselors?
Professionals licensed by the Georgia Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists:
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Associate Professional Counselors, and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists: 35 hours every 2 years. Licenses expire on 9/30 of even-numbered years.
Professionals Certified by the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia:
- CADC I, CADC II, CAADC: 40 hours every 2 years.
Can I take my continuing education through Continued Counseling?
Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Associate Professional Counselors, and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists: Yes. The Georgia Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling accepts courses sponsored by an approved provider of professional associations such as the NBCC. Addiction Counselors: Yes. The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia (ADACBGA) accepts courses by NAADAC approved providers.
