How many CE Credits does Alaska require for counselors?

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC):
- 40 hours every 2 years
- License expires on 10/31 of odd-numbered years
Professionals with credentials from the Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health Certification:
- CDC I, CDC II, and CD Clinical Supervisor:
  - 40 hours every 2 years.
Professionals with credentials from the Alaska Board of Marital & Family Therapy:
- Marital and Family Therapist:
  - 45 hours every 2 years
  - License expires 12/31 on even-numbered years
- Marital Therapy Associate:
  - No CE required
  - License expires after 4 years

Can I take my continuing education through Continued Counseling?

Licensed Professional Counselors:
- Yes, the Alaska Board of Professional Counselors accepts courses by NBCC-approved providers. We have been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7484.
